This month’s EDHH Table Talk guest is Elle Wilson, Facilities Manager with Druid Hills Presbyterian Church who has generated tens of thousands of dollars in revenue through innovative property rental agreements. Her tips on liability risks, setting rates and marketing can get you thinking about how to monetize your own spaces for maximum mission-driven profits. Join us April 12 from 5p-7p. Would you like to socialize with nonprofit executives directors like yourself, among kindred spirits who can relate to your unique intensity and variety of challenges?
As it is, you may already be working in a silo that offers you little in the way of emotional release. What fun [and relief] it could be for you to just let your hair down in a safe space where you are truly among friends!
The Executive Director Happy Hour [EDHH] Atlanta is a great after-hours opportunity for you to build your network and share in the camaraderie that can only be understood but those who can relate to what can sometimes be a thankless job.
EDHH Atlanta was an idea that originated in Seattle, WA in 2011 by Vu Le a nonprofit executive director and blogger, but has now spread to a number of cities across the U.S.
When I first read about EDHH on Vu’s his blog, I thought about what a brilliant concept it was and how I knew some ED’s that could definitely benefit from the experience. I applied for permission to form an Atlanta chapter and received approval in September 2015!
These monthly gatherings, for current and former executive directors only—no staff or board [unless they serve in an appointed ED capacity] would be held during the traditional “happy hour” timeframe of 5p-7p [or so] on the second Friday of every month. Events are held at locations that have reasonably priced menus and free parking nearby.
Alcohol of course is optional but what is necessary is for you to connect with each other in a way that allows you to relax and share. It’s your opportunity to just “be” in a no-judgment zone. You can talk shop, politics, world affairs, sports, reality TV shows—whatever suits your fancy.
There is some structure around these events; in part to make it fun and in part as regards ensuring some continuity to its functionality. We’ll discuss the particulars once our membership is solid.

Thanks for all you do to make your community stronger. You may feel like it’s a thankless job some of the time but at EDHH Atlanta, you’ll never feel underappreciated.
Where would you like to meet up for the next EDHH Atlanta? This is your time, custom made for you. Send your requests, ideas to me and I'll put an EDHH Atlanta opportunity together just for you!
